which, is an ongoing problem with open source software
people write "instructions" with nothing but technical terms and no lines that read "so, do this, and then do this, and you're good"

was trying to get that mastodon-markdown post converter thing working, and after about an hour of troubleshooting installing Go (because apt-get gave me a seriously old version??) ... uhm
well, the actual post grabber thing isn't working, and/or, the documentation is poorly written
