I'm super interested in the "hat man" that people describe in sleep paralysis but also not interested, I don't want to know about it

I think it's one part collective hallucination one part confirmation bias. Like "Oh yeah, if you overdose on Benadryl you see the Hat Man" and then people intentionally overdose on Bendaryl expecting to see the Hat Man and they do because they set themselves up for it.

I was listening to scary stories and rain while I was driving home from work, and this one story came up about it, some woman in bed being whispered to by the hat man, and it sounded ridiculous and made-up, but yeah, it HAS to have a logical explanation lol
