in fact, I know in order to do this bridgy is running its own pds, so why CAN'T we have access to our accounts and data

the only thing I don't like about bridgy, despite syncing this account's posts there for multiple years at this point, is that I have no access to the data, and can't log into it directly

your bridged data is public and accessible, eg https://pdsls.dev/at://cmdr-nova.mkultra.monster.ap.brid.gy is a good browser. you're right that you can't log into client apps with it directly right now, but we're looking into that.
