Got killed by wolves on the road because I don't know how to effectively get them away from me, and alas, I'm thrown back to the beginning of my quest before any murder took place

Went and got a job as a blacksmith, got myself a bed and a chest to store things
Just going to stuff all my bloody clothing and stolen stuff in there

You'll get branded a criminal when caught, but you can wait out the brand once you actually have it
You can also just do a speech check against the guards if it's for the theft
