Still editing my website in VSCode, but now I just run a single python script and my website uploads to my server in like 10 seconds

Today on my blog, and written via my brand new server that now hosts it, for the first time.

I've installed Anubis, and this is why:

I went in face-first with this server setup and I'm surprised I made it out the other side without 5 hours of headaches lol

alright! I have my website running on my own server, AND it's running Anubis

Okay, I have some clarification now on setting up Anubis. I thought in the install you need to specify an actual service (like Gitea), but you can just say "website" is the service you're protecting

Now I think I understand how to get this up and running

Like, I really want my website off of Github. I've got years of my thoughts and ideas stored in thousands of excerpts that is probably delicious juice for MikeySoft

if I can get Anubis running on my site via the droplet I just turned on, I'll probably switch to hosting it there

it's literally dead simple to continue what I already do with pretty much no restrictions lol

I'm testing moving my website to a Digital Ocean VPS, but I'm a little unclear on how to route http requests through Anubis before they hit my site (using nginx)

so, I spun up a 6 dollar droplet on Digital Ocean, just to test things. Installed Nginx, enabled it, and then executed this command from VSCode: rsync -avz --delete _site/ [user]@myip:/var/www/html

And BAM

Uploaded in like 10 seconds and it works lol
