RE: Neocities owner being sadly pro-AI doesn’t make any sense, when your entire platform is about taking the internet back to the 90s where there were no oligarch machines eating up everyone’s work in order to spit it back out as plagiarized hallucinations

I posted about Neocities being kinda sorta asskissing in regard to AI on both here and on Mastodon, and about how I block the absolute hell out of AI, and on both sites one person decided to piss their pants about me making a personal decision to use anti-AI software lol

neocities went offline and has been offline for i’m not sure how long, but i got 5 bucks that they got ddosed by ai plagiarist scrapers

personally, i prefer to use up 15 countries worth of energy and 90 gallons of water so that i can generate an image of a man with 14 toes and an eyeball on his finger for a single post that will receive zero likes

The Primfeed developer wants 7 or so real USD for posting freedom and a blue check on his Second Life social site, and it ain’t even provide an RSS feed, and no decentralized connection to ATPROTO or ActivityPub

Virtual Secrets was kind of nasty and problematic at times, but I also miss it, because it gave me something wild and ridiculous to read every day that specifically only revolved around Second Life
