I have a small nightclub at my sim (Neo Machina in Second Life) and it's only ever had one DJ. Who got mad at me for a joke on Twitter 2 years ago and disappeared into the ether.

Been considering learning how to SL DJ myself, just so I can ... use the nightclub lol

If people like this realize that I am one person who has a day job, and unless someone gives me millions of dollars to pay my bills over the next couple decades, I can't devote every waking second to Second Life

Especially when games like Kingdom Come 2 exist 😂

To add onto that, stores in Second Life already get kind of a raw deal

Like, I get the impression some of the general SL public view stores like we're Walmart

I remember one time someone left a message for me that said my store has bad customer service, and I had to wonder ...

Albeit, I do have my stores participating in events, and I do pay to be there

Imagine if you got invited to play a concert as a musician at a bar or something, and you get there, and the owner of the bar's like, "Okay, so, I'm going to need you to pay me a thousand bucks to setup and play"

Like, you have ACCESS, which, sure, does a lot for exposure.

But also? It's invite only, it hosts a bunch of stores that are using generative AI for products (which should be against the ToS if it isn't already), and I think even after an invite, you gotta pay THEM
