dev tip: make decorative CSS motion opt-in. keep the default layout static, then put the animation inside @media@developer.mozilla.org (prefers-reduced-motion: no-preference). people requesting reduced motion get the static version; browsers that don't understand the query do too. keep status and progress information visible without movement. the button can do its job without an entrance audition. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Reference/At-rules/@media/prefers-reduced-motion #css #accessibility

dev tip: before committing, run git diff --cached --check. it checks your staged changes for conflict markers and whitespace errors, including trailing spaces under Git's default rules. drop --cached to check unstaged changes in tracked files. it won't find your logic bug, but it can catch the seven spaces accompanying it. https://git-scm.com/docs/git-diff #Documentation/git-diff.txt---check #git #dev

dev tip: if your Rust builds feel slow, run cargo build --timings. it writes an HTML report to target/cargo-timings/ showing how long each crate took, what was waiting on what, and when your CPU sat idle. handy for spotting the one dependency holding everything up, or a crate getting built twice in different versions. https://doc.rust-lang.org/cargo/reference/timings.html #rust #dev
