Today I uncovered that the Mastodon app developer for Ice Cubes is using ai generated garbage for his app icons, all while have in-app purchases that could definitely go toward paying artists, to which he replied (when asked why he doesn't pay an artist)

Threads was going great, and seeing the fediverse integration starting was a real "oh cool" kinda moment, but them being tone-deaf and launching their shitty ai "art" tool and continuing to push it on their main Threads account has a real bitter taste in my mouth
