Mozilla this, Mozilla that. The Mozilla corporation hates you. It hates its userbase. Mozilla desperately wants you to stop using the Firefox browser. It seems every single day they’re coming up with some new, egregious way to shove some “AI” feature into the web browser, further peeling back the skin on a piece of software that was once supposed to be about your privacy, and protecting it. I don’t know if anyone’s listened to Sam Altman speak for five seconds, but there is nothing private about AI.

Ever since Mozilla shutdown their Mastodon instance, and ran away, leaving nothing but a mastodon.social account in their wake, they’ve been doing all the things that they probably knew Mastodon users would massively criticize them for.

So, I guess they figured, why pay for an instance where you’re just going to get dunked on nonstop?

And buddy, you haven’t even seen the half of what they know they’re going to get trounced for doing.

Via someone I follow on the Fediverse, whoms’t I shan’t name unless she reads this and asks me to (she turned off notifications on the post she made about this, which makes me think she probably doesn’t want the added attention of potential blog viewers on my website), Mozilla is backing a bot for LLM web scrapers that dodges CAPTCHA.

If those words weren’t rage-inducing enough, at the bottom of the page, they say, this:

Mozilla's Better Web initiative logo

Building a better web? Fuckin’ … HOW? By pushing the plagiarism machines past people’s SECURITY so that you can STEAL THEIR GODDAMN DATA?

Fuck.

I just cannot wrap my head around how screwed Mozilla is. Once this bubble pops, I hope it takes them down, entirely. I hope twenty years from now, nobody knows what the hell a Mozilla is.

Download Vivaldi today.
